The Vented and Unvented Hot Water Systems course is ideal for engineers wishing to increase their scope, enabling them to install, commission or service unvented or vented hot water systems.
On successful achievement of the course, candidates will be awarded a Cert-ain certificate of achievement and operatives can work on unvented or vented hot water systems.
Course structure:
The course is delivered over 1 day, and you will be in a group of up to 6 people. As part of the course, you will cover the following topics:
• Gas safety regulations, Building Regulations, British Standards, and other related legislation.
• Types and configurations of vented/unvented hot water systems including design installation requirements.
• Types and operation of specialist components used in hot water systems.
• Design requirements for hot water systems.
• Installation and safety features of hot water systems and components.
• Installation of cold-water components associated with hot water systems.
• Diagnose faults in hot water systems and components.
• Commissioning requirements of hot water systems and components in accordance with design specifications.
• Maintenance and servicing of unvented hot water systems in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
Prerequisites:
Candidates wishing to take the Vented and Unvented Hot Water Systems course must already hold a valid and current domestic ACS or OFTEC or hold one of the following qualifications:
Although it is not a compulsory entry requirement, it is recommended that candidates either hold, or carry out the Water Regulations assessment.

Our Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) course is a great choice for engineers to gain the knowledge of the Water Regulations (1999) before applying to join their local water authorities “Water Industry Approved Plumber Scheme”, one of the plumbing competent person schemes (CPS) or Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) registration bodies.
On successful achievement of the course, candidates will be awarded a Cert-ain certificate of achievement and operatives will be able to register their competency with their chosen water authority.

The course is delivered over 1 day, and you will be in a group of up to 6 people. As part of the course, you will cover the following topics:

There are no formal entry requirements for candidates wishing to take the Water Regulations course, however a relevant plumbing qualification in one of the following is recommended or equivalent work experience;
Training materials:
All training and assessment materials are provided, and a WRAS Water Regulations Guide is supplied free of charge when completing the Water Regulations Course. Alternatively, this can be purchased from Gasmark Training and Assessment.

We offer the Energy Efficiency course for engineers working within domestic properties and will enable operatives to “self-certificate” as required by the Building Regulations Approved Document L1A: Conservation of fuel and power in new dwellings (2013 edition with 2016 amendments) and Approved Document L1B: conservation of fuel and power in existing dwellings, 2010 edition (incorporating 2010, 2011, 2013, 2016 and 2018 amendments) and The Domestic Building Services Compliance guide 2013 edition (incorporating 2018 amendments.
Successful completion of the training and assessment will allow suitably qualified operatives to join a competent person’s scheme to allow self-certification and notification to Local Authority Building Control.
